They Call Me Mister President

President Barack Obama. Say it again; President Barack Obama. The United States of America has just elected the first African-American to lead a major democracy. Congratulations to President Obama, and congratulations to the US of A. Think, people, about what you have done.

My fellow citizens, you have proved once again that democracy, though stately and stubborn, will find its way through the darkness and the people will rule with a steady hand. The great experiment continues, and no gaming of the system can trump the rule of the populace -- for long.

But let this be a lesson to all citizens of the world's democracies; is it the fault of the Karl Roves of the world? Or is it the fault of those citizens who let apathy rule? The voters won this election, and only by a massive effort.

I say never again! Do not let the lesson of this victory go unheeded. Never again! It will be just as important the next time and the next. Do not lay down your arms, fight for what is yours!

Make a vow with me now: Never again will we allow a Karl Rove, Dick Cheney or Ralph Reed to rule us with fear and hate. Never never never!
